The latest Humber Destroyer has now arrived safely with the British Antarctic Survey team to compliment their current fleet of Humber Work Boats which are in use for all year round operations by their dive and survey crew.

Our normal build quality is to a standard that allows them to operate in extreme weather conditions with the exception of additional tube reinforcements and cladding to protect the inflation collar from floating ice which can be present in the water.

11m Humber/Quinquari Cabin RIB

Sea.fari Adventures (Oban)’s new 11m cabin RIB was launched in bright sunshine with the spectacular setting of Glencoe as a backdrop. The build specification was for a RIB to carry 12 passengers from Easdale to Iona a distance of 33 miles. There was a secondary requirement for the boat to be used as a whale watching platform.

Speed – fitted with twin 300HP Suzukis ‘Celtic Voyager’ cruises at 25 .5 knots/4,000 RPM using 70 litres of fuel per hour. Top speed is 42 knots (guzzling 180 litres of fuel per hour)

Passenger comfort – this is an open sea passage in the Atlantic. Individual stainless steel open framed jockey seats were used. The cabin has an airy oatmeal lining trimmed in cherry. The large picture windows offer excellent views

Practicalities – Passenger boarding at Easdale is via the stern, at Iona it is via the bows. A doorway at the front of the cabin allows easy access through the RIB. Both fore and stern deck offer outside viewpoints whilst whale watching.

Boat electronics – a comprehensive package of duplicate Lowrance GPS/Radars, Icom radios ensure serviceability and back up.
