REPORT on Easdale RIB Rendezvous 2011
Around 45 RIBs gathered at Easdale Harbour in preparation for the main trip of the Rendezvous – a passage across to the Isle of Colonsay. Humber RIBs were well represented at around 25% of the fleet with the Destroyer the most popular model. Quinquari North who also operate commercial RIBs under the trade name Seafari had their 11m cabin RIB Celtic Voyager acting as safety boat but this was not an event just for large RIBs. In an easterly Force 5 a 4.0m Humber Assault with a 30HP engine was one of the first RIBs to reach Colonsay. Great stuff..
RIBs crowded into Colonsay’s Inner harbour and despite the weather forecast, the wind increased to Force 6 so RIBs had a fairly bumpy ride home. It was interesting to watch and listen to RIB owners as they returned to Easdale. Certainly the ‘happy bunch’ included all the Humber owners who enjoyed as relative a comfortable journey as could be expected in steepening sea conditions.
Following an excellent evening’s BBQ and live music at The Puffer Bar at Easdale RIBs gathered on Sunday and undertook a variety of different tours ranging from visiting the Tobermory Music Festival to heading down to the Gulf of Corryvreckan (home of the World’s Third Largest Whirlpool.

Seafari Adventures (Oban) operate 5 Humber Offshore Wide RIBs from Easdale. RIBs are ideal boats for cruising the West Coast of Scotland and Humber RIBs are very popular locally. Our brand is supported via Seafari/Quinquari Marine North who have extensive workshop facilities. Should you be visiting the area or require advice on cruising on Scotland’s West Coast just get in touch with Seafari/Quinquari. Humber Ribs have been commissioned to supply four of their 13ft (4.0m) inflatable workboats for the on-going training. HF&R have commented on how suitable these craft are for launching incredibly quickly, together with their speed and manoeuvrability "These inflatables could have been specifically designed for this very purpose"
Humber Ribs MD Andrew Roffee commented "It is our pleasure to supply HF&R with four of our proven inflatables. We have a long standing relationship with HF&R, and are proud to be able to supply the team for this extremely important operation"
